Description
Now in its 35th year, the 2015 Annual Art Exhibition and Auction provides unique opportunities for art enthusiasts and collectors to view and purchase artwork by rising stars and celebrated artists whose work reflects the scope of the artworld's vibrant and eclectic styles and interests. The 2015 Art Auction Exhibition, which runs from September 26 to October 24, will feature works by artists from the Bay Area, around the country and beyond. The selection of work in the exhibition reflects the ICA's continued commitment to including nationally and internationally recognized artists in its exhibition program. Held in a sophisticated gallery setting with a professional auctioneer, Silent and Live Auction guests actively bid on a wide range of work including paintings, photography, works on paper, sculpture, and mixed media pieces by nearly 200 artists. All proceeds fund the ICA's innovative exhibitions and educational programming.
"The ICA's auction exhibition is a valid gauge of what’s on the leading-edge of the contemporary visual arts scene throughout the state and beyond," states ICA Executive Director Cathy Kimball. The auction will include exceptional donated works from highly acclaimed artists, including Jim Campbell, Val Britton, Russell Crotty, Leyla Cardenas, Bruce Conner, Lauren DiCioccio, Lordy Rodriguez, Hung Liu, Manuel Neri, and Naomie Kremer. The ICA is offering Curator Tours of the Art Auction Exhibition with either Cathy Kimball or Curator Donna Napper by advance appointment and subject to availability. Call 408-283-8155 to reserve. Admission is free.
