The National Kidney Foundation will celebrate its 24th Annual San Francisco Author’s Luncheon Saturday, November 10, 2012 from 10:00am-3:00pm at the Marriott Marquis San Francisco. Guests will be captivated by the compelling stories, wit and humor of six nationally known, best-selling authors: Emma Donoghue, Chef Hubert Keller, Annie Leibovitz, Tom Lichtenheld, Captain Chesley B. “Sully” Sullenberger, and Vincent Lam. Master of Ceremonies is Michael J. Krasny, PhD, host of KQED public radio’s Forum. Attendees will have the opportunity to meet each author personally during book signing sessions preceding and following the luncheon.SAN FRANCISCO’S PREMIER LITERARY EVENT: During the last two decades the luncheon has grown into the Bay Area’s premier literary event attracting up to 1,000 guests each year. Our longtime dedicated Event Chair is Tyler Hofinga. A VIP cocktail reception and dinner will take place November 9th at The City Club of San Francisco for corporate sponsors and event patrons.
WHY THIS EVENT IS IMPORTANT: Nearly 2 million people in Northern California suffer from chronic kidney disease, including 1 million living in the Greater Bay Area. The luncheon proceeds support the work of the National Kidney Foundation to directly enhance the lives of people in our community who are either dialysis or transplant patients, or at risk for developing kidney disease.
