Three years? Since what?222 has been a showcase for djs and electronic sounds since at least 2004!! In the 80's we hear it was a gay dive bar!
In the 40's, 50's and 60's it was right next to the world famous Black Hawk Jazz Club, graced by the likes of Miles Davis, Thelonious Monk and John Coltrane, stepping into "The Three Deuces" as a sort of green room...
So the anniversary is celebrating the latest incarnation of this historic space. In September 2009 we reopened the doors with many changes and improvements, and in February 2012 we reopened again after even more renovations (and flashing lights). You know the rest!
The many styles of sound that are represented at the club are too many to cram into one event, so this year we've embraced the BASS!
