Description

What's your favorite way to read? Paperback, hardback, or e-book? Kindle, Nook, or iPad? Is there a shortcut through the million-book maze to the one book you want? If you're a writer, what's the best route for your story to find its audience?

Mechanics' Institute Library can help!

On Monday, June 25, a panel of experts bring news from the wild frontiers of publishing:

- Literary agent April Eberhardt on picking the right strategy for each project
- Librarian Sharon Miller on old and new bridges between writers and readers

And five indie publishers on their latest books and adventures:

- Adele Fasick, author of Margaret Fuller: an Uncommon Woman (biography), on formatting, uploading, and niches
- Blythe Rainey-Cuyler, author of Alligator Smiles (novel), on incorporating and other business decisions
- Carol Costello, author of Chasing Grace (novel) and The Soul of Selling (nonfiction), on building a media platform
- Carol Verburg, author of Edward Gorey on Stage (biography/memoir), on the war between Apple and Amazon
- Renee Gibbons, author of Longing for Elsewhere (memoir), on personal performance-angled marketing

Books will be available for sale throughout.
