Thursday, April 17 at the Del Mar Theater in Santa Cruz

5:30 p.m. see the Israeli TV drama that won 9 Israeli Academy Awards, "Shtisel", which probes the feelings and paradoxes of an orthodox family.
6:30 p.m. "Present Continuous" plunges the viewer into the heart and mind of an Israeli mother who must reconcile love of family with the dangers of everyday life.
8:15 p.m. "Who Do You Love" returns after playing to a sold out house in 2012. The Chess brothers brought blues artists such as Muddy Waters, Howlin Wolf, Etta James, and Bo Didley to mainstream America. Great music and drama. Rated R for language and sexual situations.

Saturday, April 19 at Temple Beth El, 3055 Porter Gulch Road, Aptos

5:00 p.m "Mom, Dad, I'm Muslim". An intimate look inside an unusual family in which a beloved daughter’s choices defy family and community expectations.
6:00 p.m. Reception featuring Passover goodies. Free.
6:30 p.m. Short film program includes four short films including "The Pale of Settlement", the riveting historical reenactment of the filmmaker’s great-grand- father who escaped conscription in the Czar’s army as a boy
7:40 p.m. "Watchers of the Sky", 2014 Sundance Film Festival Special Jury Award winner. With dazzling animation and footage from Nuremburg to Darfur, this inspirational film profiles the heroes who found their purpose in bringing justice to the powerless. Moving and uplifting for all ages.

Wednesday, April 23 at the Aptos Cinema, 122 Rancho Del Mar Shopping Center

6:00 p.m. "The Holy Gathering". Four friends raised on a secular kibbutz seek spirituality and love as they mature into adulthood.
7:00 p.m. Live aerial gymnastics demonstration by Aerial Arts. Santa Cruz’s own competitive dancers show off their strength and grace in the fastest growing women’s competitive sport. FREE!
7:30 p.m. "Rakdanit, Amud V’Seret", a U.S. premier, profiles Israel’s feisty and foremost acrobatic dancer as she breaks stereotypes and challenges sexist preconceptions. Funny and provocative, the film follows Neta on her quest to become an international champion. ADULT CONTENT.
8:30 p.m. "Shtisel", episode #2. Further adventures in
love, work, and relationship as the orthodox Shtisel family struggles to balance the modern & the traditional.
