Clay geeks from all over Silicon Valley present their latest creations from the kiln! The Orchard Valley Ceramic Arts Guild will hold its 2009 Art in Clay show on Saturday & Sunday, November 14-15, at the Lucie Stern Community Center Ballroom in Palo Alto. The public is invited to take a tactile tour of new work by more than 60 local clay artists – a truly touchy-feely event!
On display will be contemporary ceramics -- from funky and functional tableware, decorative ceramic art, jewelry and raku to woodfire, sculpture, Ikebana vessels, and even holiday-themed items. Come mingle with the artists and enjoy light refreshments throughout the day.
This event is one of the Bay Area's finest art and craft shows, and the exhibit is perfectly timed for selecting one-of-a-kind, artisan-made gifts for the holidays.
Admission to Art in Clay is free. Plenty of public and street parking is available.
About the Guild…
The Orchard Valley Ceramic Arts Guild is a non-profit association of nearly 200 artists and supporters. Membership is open to anyone age 16 or over with an interest in working with clay. The Guild welcomes professional and hobby artists, as well as those who are simply interested in developing an appreciation for the ceramic arts.
Guild activities include regular meetings, workshops, exhibits, and sales. The Guild also publishes the award-winning newsletter – Greenware – available by subscription online at http://www.ovcag.org.
