Let the competition begin!!! Little Italy San Jose will be hosting a Little Italy Cannoli tournament at Bel Bacio (Bel Bacio - 350 W. Julian St #4 San Jose, CA). We will be bringing together contestants from Pastry chefs, to Italian Bakeries, to Italian Nonna's so we can find out who really has the best Cannoli. The judges will be The Food Editor from the Mercury News, Italian Tenor, Pasquale Esposito, and Jeff Capaccio from the National Italian American Foundation.We will have eight contestants (including Professional Bakeries Dolce Sicilia, Romolo's Cannoli, La Biscotteria, A Slice of New York, Holy Cannoli, and The Charming Kitchen, and home bakers Teresa Cefaly Dirkson and Mary Oliveri. The single-elimination tournament will be setup bracket style. $25 ticket will include all eight (mini) cannoli and a glass of wine. All ticket sales on 5/6 will go towards Silicon Valley Giving Day in which large corporations will be matching donations made on that day to Santa Clara and San Mateo county non profits like Little Italy San Jose. Tickets will be limited so get there early! Profits made will go towards the new Little Italy cultural center & museum!
