Now in its 15th year, The Filipino-American Friendship Festival is the largest free Filipino festival in the Bay area. Every year, Daly City (home to the largest Filipino-American Community in the United States) hosts a festival that honors Filipino heritage and culture. The festival will feature such treats as authentic Filipino cuisine, local vendors displaying their art, and experience live entertainment.Appearing at this year’s festival will be Filipino singers straight out of the Bay Area along with all kinds of Filipino music and dance. There will also be a fashion show featuring Filipino looks, and will be hosted by Crisanta Malig, owner of Fashion Arts & Youth Enterprises Inc. Also during the festival there will be a singing contest, a Balut eating contest, and the drawing of a grand prize: two round-trip tickets to the Philippines. This year’s festival will be held at the Serramone Center in Daly City, from September 19-20, 2009. The Filipino-American Friendship Festival is open to the public and free of charge.
