White Ring is the NYC based duo Bryan Kurkimilis and Kendra Malia and they make creepy soundscapes centered around Houston style Hip-Hop production with heavily warped-out, slinky synths and eerie vocals, provided by the female half of the duo (Kendra Malia). They cite Wacka Flocka mixtapes as inspiration and have been influential in the progression of the Drag movement, if you can even call it a movement. It’s more of a steadily growing group of diverse individuals creating similar sounding, hazy bass music, that can be just easily enjoyed at 2am in the middle of the dance floor as it can be in the middle of a dense forest during a thunderstorm.
