Description
Inaugurated last season, the San Jose Chamber Orchestra presents the annual Young Artist Concert, a comprehensive performance experience which celebrates young musicians in a number of ways.The first half of the concert will feature the professional SJCO, performing music written by young composers, with exceptional young soloists. This year, with the participation of SJSU faculty oboist Michael Adduci, we will also premiere Zephyr Approaches by SJSU graduate student Jason McChristian and feature soloists Kenneth Renshaw in a Bach violin concerto and Annie Wu in a flute Fantasia by Hue. Kenneth recently won first place in the Menuhin International Violin Competition in Beijing and Annie is a National Flute Association contest first place winner.
During the second half of the concert, the SJCO Senior Youth Orchestra will join the pros in performing works by Phil Young, Edward Elgar and Luigi Boccherini.
Under the baton of Maestro Anthony Quartuccio, this concert is a true celebration of the promise of the next generation of musicians!
