Andrea Schwartz Gallery is pleased to announce a two-person exhibition featuring new work by Wynne Hayakawa and Gwen Manfrin, with an opening reception held on Tuesday, October 7, 2008, 5:30 – 7:30 pm; the exhibition runs through November 7. Bay Area artist Wynne Hayakawa works from landscape, starting with drawing and painting on paper. She arrives at almost complete abstraction in her oil paintings, which refer to the light, colors, and textures of the natural world. Showing concurrently with Hayakawa is artist Gwen Manfrin, whose current body of work is comprised of mixed media paintings and drawings. Thematically, Manfrin explores human emotions, specifically, moments of unguarded angst.More Info
