Description

Alum Rock Community Advisory Committee and San Jose Parks and Recreation Foundation presents the Inaugural Comedy Night Benefit featuring a diverse lineup of hilarious stand up comics including Carlos Oscar, Mike E. Winfield, Kabir Singh, and Butch Escobar. The evening includes dinner and a silent auction.

Carlos Oscar headlines as a one of the only clean but funny Latino comedians. His uproarious act about every day life has been featured on Comedy Central and The Tonight Show With Jay Leno.

Mike E. Winfield debuted on The Late Show with David Letterman and has since appeared on HBO, Showtime, Comedy Central, and in a recurring role on "The Office."

Kabir Sing, winner of the 2009 Rooster T. Feathers Bay Area Stand Up Comedy Competition and 2010 winner of the San Jose Improv Bay Area Stand Up Comedy Competition, has also appeared on Comedy Central and HBO.

San Jose native Butch Escobar has appeared at San Jose Improv with his classic local comedy, lampooning all things known to fellow San Joseans.

This event is also a night of recognition for California State Assembly member Nora Campos and Community Relations Manager of Government and Public Affairs of Hewlett Packard Jason Rodriguez for their contribution to arts and education. All proceeds will benefit the educational programs of the 21st Annual Mariachi Festival and Mexican Heritage Corporation and the youth recreational programs given by San Jose Parks Foundation.

Tickets are available by calling Mayfair Community Center at 408.794.1060 or San Jose Parks Recreation & Neighborhood Department at 408.535.3570. Credit card purchases are available by calling Monica Ramo at 408.920.6073.
