Gordon Huether's Hay Barn Gallery and studio in Napa is currently featuring the work of photographers Andre Vera and Vincent Goetz and will run through November 29th. André Vera Martínez, an independent photographer from Mexico, was born 1975 in Toluca, State Capital of Mexico State. His images in this exhibition deal with the discomfort many people feel about the intimacy unveiled by revealing their bodies. In these images, masks allow them to show all their beauty and defects without being identified. For Vince Goetz, photography is all about technology as a means of revealing what he sees - which isn't always what other people or even the camera lens sees. He is drawn to texture and color, seeing patterns that we see daily, but seeing them in a different way. The images in this show come from the last year, from places as remote as Death Valley, China, Alcatraz, Bodie, and Napa.
