Description
Join the weekly Rebel Reading Circle in reading the new book, "Viva la Raza: A History of Chicano Identity and Resistance" every Tuesday in San Francisco and Berkeley through August 5th.

The San Francisco group meets from 7:00-8:30pm at El Cafetazo
Café, 3087 16th Street (one block west of 16th Street/Mission BART);
the Berkeley group meets at UC Berkeley, 5:30-7pm, at Boalt Hall (School of Law), Room
382, Bancroft Way and Piedmont Avenue (east of downtown Berkeley BART).

Learn about the proud, but too often hidden history of Chicanos in the U.S. Discover a wealth of little-known information about organizing by farmworkers, students and Chicana feminists in California and beyond. Relearn the hard-won lessons of historic labor strikes and boycotts by the United Farm Workers. Discuss the still debated question of Chicano identity.

Books may be purchased at the reading circle or drop by New Valencia Hall, 625 Larkin Street #202, in San Francisco’s Civic Center area.
