Mission City Opera brings you a touching story of how rivaling soldiers came together on Christmas Eve during WWI. In 1914, German soldiers sung Christmas carols in their decorated trenches. British troops responded by shouting Christmas greetings. Troops from both sides crossed no man’s land to greet one another and exchange gifts. Proper burials, mourning, and even soccer tournaments were able to take place. In some areas the truce lasted until New Years day. Amahl and The Night Visitors is a story about a ten year-old boy’s story that becomes a reality.
