Description
VivaFest presents the award-winning Tijuana Jews, which follows the story of a different group of immigrants: the Jewish diaspora on the Mexican-American border.Tijuana Jews illuminates on the experiences of locals who established the first Jewish temple in Tijuana and its other congregations. The documentary has a first-person narration, which takes the audience on a journey that leads up to the present which includes the transformation of Tijuana into the busiest border crossing in the world, and the migration of Tijuana Jewish families to the US. Tijuana Jews explores this unknown and unique community, who took both the Jewish and Mexican cultures and customs and combined them into one in a way that no one believed could be possible.
The screening will be followed by a panel discussion, and a special performance by Ronstadt Generations.
