Description
LA's Wild Reeds have gone to go to great lengths to distinguish themselves from your typical run-of-mill folk group. For one, they have three phenomenal singers that are nearly always creating a forceful, captivating three part harmony. For another, their influences seem less about Woody Guthrie and a whole lot about classic jazz and blues. As far as instrumentation goes, they may have several songs with just the standard acoustic guitar, but others have a mandolin, a banjo or even an organ. With two incredible, independently released albums under their belt, they are definitely a group to watch out for. - Aaron Carnes sanjose.com
