West Valley Presbyterian Church in Cupertino presents the Spring Sing, featuring Handel's Messiah.Even if you don't think you know Handel's Messiah, you probably do. Whenever a miraculous or exciting event goes down in a cartoon, it's usually set to a couple "Hal-le-lu-jah!"s. Hearing it in your head yet? THAT'S Handel's Messiah. Though, if it's associated with anything, it's usually heard around Christmas, Handel's Messiah was actually intended to be Easter music.
Those of us who know more than the first four "Hallelujah"s are invited to sing along. The church will be holding free rehearsals for those of us who are less familiar with the work on the 1st, 8th, 15th and 22nd at 7:30pm. Handel's Messiah will be sung twice, once on the 28th, with an encore performance of selections on the 29th.
