Description

Outside in the Barbro Osher Sculpure Garden and Café at the de Young in Golden Gate Park (If inclement weather inside the de Young at Wilsey Court)

For the third consecutive year, Intersection & the de Young join forces in a unique collaboration to present eight family-friendly outdoor Sunday afternoon performances. Experience some of the most exciting Bay Area jazz musicians in beautiful Golden Gate Park.

Led by boundary-leaping vocalist Kat Parra, this new ensemble explores and creates new arrangements of the music of Spanish Jews sung in the dying language of Ladino, musically traveling from the Moorish influenced Iberian Peninsula across the ocean to Latin America, incorporating salsa, bolero, samba and charanga.

Kat Parra – vocals
Murray Low – piano
Masaru Koga – woodwinds
Stephanie Antoine – violin
Peter Barshay - acoustic bass
Katja Cooper – percussion
Paul van Wageningen – drums
