The pedal steel and piano create a classic yet rarely heard dynamic over an utterly bubbling rhythm section. One can hear the love for these songs within the musicians' spirited playing. The Sacred Profanities have a sound that envelopes the listener with its infectious melodies and grooves, as well as poignant and catchy lyricism. The songs seem to be putty in the band's hands as they create a wholly original mosaic of American music. You just don't hear this type of music anymore.
