Hosted by friends of the Art Boutiki in Picture Atlantic and Please Do Not Fight, The Rock Hop is a series of alternating themed shows put on for fans of live music by fans of live music. This edition of The Rock Hop is themed for The 90's and will feature local bands Picture Atlantic, Fierce Creatures, Sahab, and Downstairs.Picture Atlantic was formed in Santa Clara by John Tran, Ryan Blaire and Patrick Chu who were later joined by vocalist Nikolaus Bartunek. The indie/alternative band has released 4 EPs and two full-length albums.
Fierce Creatures is a seven-piece indie/folk band from Fresno that formed in September 2009. The band most recently embarked on a tour of the Pacific Northwest, returning in February to make the Bay Area rounds.
Also hailing from Fresno is Sahab, a musician, singer, songwriter, producer and visual artist.
Downstairs is an indie pop rock group made up of Dani Artaud and Asia Whiteacre on vocals, Jake Johnson on guitar, Dre Smith on bass and Chase Meyer on drums. The Los Angeles-based group formed in late 2010 and debuted their first single "Legendary" on iTunes earlier this year.
