Description

This opera in three acts was composed by Giuseppe Verdi, and was first performed in 1851. The story follows the lives of the licentious Duke of Mantua, his hunch-backed court jester Rigoletto, and Rigoletto's beautiful daughter Gilda. This production is directed by Michael Mayer and stars Piotr Beczala as the womanizing Duke of Mantua, Zeljko Lucic as his tragic sidekick, Rigoletto, and Diana Damrau as Rigoletto's daughter, Gilda.
