I have always said that no one really hates the Melvins, because their grunge-metal sludge is entertaining and loud and super weird and they have giant hair. But no one really gets them, either. Anyone who wants to argue this point will have to explain Electroretard to me. There's nothing quite so bizarre about their latest EP, The Bulls and the Bees, except maybe that they partnered with a car company to produce it. I don't mean that they're "selling out," because I'm not sure they would even know how to do that. The unbelievable part is that anything in this band's almost 30-year history of sonic insanity could make a corporate type think "Oh my god, this will sell so many Scions!" - Steve Palopoli sanjose.comMore Info
