“The Lovemakers” is no goofy emo name like My Stupid Underwear or Joanie Eat Chachi or We Melted Our Plastic Action Figures When We Were Children. Okay, yes, I made all of those up, but the point is that the Lovemakers is the kind of name a band has to earn. And earn it they did, since apparently Scott Blonde and Lisa Light supposedly got thrown out of their last band for making out during practice. The Oakland duo will drop a new album next month, and it’s about time. Their Misery Loves Company EP was a tease that came out over two years ago, featuring a title track that pulsed and whirred like early Cure dropped into a disco. They’ll bring their follow-up material to the Blank Club, with Trevor Childs and The Beholders and the Albert Square opening.More Info
