The FrayRising Denver band set to play Shoreline on Aug. 1by Steve Palopoli on Jul 31, 2009MOVE OVER, Tori Amos, your reign of tyranny over the piano-rock genre is now officially over. Denver’s the Fray is suddenly everywhere. The late-night TV talk-show circuit, movie and TV soundtracks and now the pop charts. But really, all that matters for nailing the kid vote is getting a song on One Tree Hill (no one knows why this is true, but it is). The Fray has had four—count ’em, four—of its songs featured: “How to Save a Life,” “You Found Me,” “Never Say Never” and “Look After You.” And its cover of Kayne’s “Heartless” isn’t bad. Jack’s Mannequin and Vedera open. THE FRAY plays Saturday (Aug. 1) at 7pm at Shoreline Amphitheatre, 1 Amphitheatre Dr., Mountain View, Tickets are $20–$79.
