Because the Telltale Heartbreakers wear their influences on their sleeve, and scramble them all around into a dark, rocking, cartoonish sound. They’re the perfect mixture of the band members’ previous groups: lead singer Traci had an all-girl psychobilly band, the Deadutantes; guitarist Ryan Rosprim played in the Bay Area gothic band, Kill Sister Kill; bassist Matt Eskew was previously in the surf-punk band the Defiant Ones.
