Casa Ganesh Records is thrilled to bring the music of 11th generation sufi vocalist Sukhawat Ali Khan to Santa Cruz. He will perform songs of love, freedom and devotion from his new album LAAJ on Casa Ganesh Records - a world music label based in Santa Cruz.Sukhawat Ali performs around the globe with a creme-de-la-creme of world musicians - he opened for the Berkeley World Music Festival earlier this year with Baraka Moon. His last album was nominated for a Grammy award in World Music.
This will be a high energy show, as sufi music performances generally are, on a backdrop of east-meets-west musical arrangement. Sukhawat Ali's music is best experienced live and this show will be no exception.
