They came out of the glam metal period and hit platinum in 1986 with their most popular album, To Hell with the Devil. In contrast to their hedonistic brothers, it was metal with a message, even if that message can be seen in an acronym of their name: salvation through redemption, yielding peace, encouragement and righteousness.
