Description
Born in Montana and reared on the Crow Indian Reservation, Wendy Red Star is a Native American multimedia artist who explores the appropriation of her culture. She creates thought-provoking images that leave the observer intrigued and wanting more. With a BFA from Montana State University and an MFA from UCLA, Red Star's work has been displayed in a number of museums and exhibits, including the Smithsonian's National Museum of the American Indian, the Philbrook Museum of Art, and "The Plains Indians: Artists of Earth and Sky" exhibit at New York's Metropolitan Museum of Art. Her forthcoming exhibit at Triton runs through Oct. 30.
