Description

On Friday, August 4th, dance under the stars and lights of History San Jose to the sounds of live big band music. The war is ranging in the Pacific, and WWII re-enactors recreate the mood of a country at war for nearly fours years. The dance creates an escape for soldiers and citizens from the inconveniences of the mounting sacrifices.

The sentimental journey concludes with post-game fireworks coinciding with the San Jose Giants Municipal Stadium's 75th Anniversary.

On Saturday, August 5th, the 14 acre History Park is transported back to the 1940s with live big band music, swing dancing, a WWII tent city and vintage cars to paint a picture of Anytown, USA. WWII re-enactors dress in period clothing march and drill in a state side training camp. A short impromptu victory parade captures what must of been a jubilant moment in history.

Special guests include over 30 WWII veterans. There will be a hair and make up booth, trolley rides, 1940s fashion show, dog tag machines and MORE!
