Description

San Francisco's annual Cinco De Mayo celebration is one of the City's most spectacular traditions! Cinco de Mayo San Francisco Festival showcases the very best of Mexican, Latin American and Chicano cultures with a diverse array of music, dance and artistry for the entire family to enjoy.

Cinco De Mayo, a national Mexican celebration, is observed to recognize one of the most triumphant victories of our Mexican ancestors. In 1862, Mexican soldiers and citizens of the city of Puebla halted a foreign invasion by French forces, one of the world's most powerful armies. The battle and victory represent a people's ability to succeed despite overwhelming obstacles.
