Description

James Dalessandro's "Screenwriting as Pro" workshop is the longest running private screenwriting workshop in San Francisco, often with a waiting list for entrance. In his 23 year career in the WGA west, he has sold or been hired on twenty feature films and MOW's. His novel and screenplay, 1906, an epic about the great San Francisco Earthquake and Fire, was the subject of a heated Hollywood bidding war in 1998, and is currently in pre-production at Warner Brothers.

He recently completed the MOW adaptation of his true crime book, Citizen Jane, for Wolper Productions, optioned his novel and screenplay, Bohemian Heart to producer Lloyd Silverman (Snow Falling on Cedars), wrote and directed the documentary film The Damnedest, Finest Ruins, and is about to direct San Joaquin for Chic Productions/Shoreline Entertainment.

Mr. Dalessandro's approach to screenwriting is simple. His students write, and he coaches.
