The Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk is home to the renowned Giant Dipper, a classic wooden roller coaster that began operation in 1924.

The Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk is California's oldest amusement park and a California State Historic Landmark. Two rides are National Historic Landmarks: the 1911 Looff Carousel and 1924 Giant Dipper roller coaster.
