Our mission is to stimulate, celebrate and enhance understanding of ourselves and others through the shared experience of live theatre. This season the mission seems particularly pertinent. After all, we are in an election year and many of us are thinking about what we value most in our lives; about what our purpose is here; how we value our freedom and our safety; what has been our history and what we want our future to be. We also will probably need a good laugh on a regular basis. To support these reflections, I have chosen smart, thought provoking, funny plays that will stimulate the mind and celebrate the human potential to make choices that are positive and transformational... - Excerpt from greeting by Rick Lombardo, Artistic Director

Best Theater Company
From cutting-edge dramas to frothy comedies to visiting stars like Carrie Fisher, San Jose Rep is as prominent artistically as its big blue cube of a theater is architecturally. After 20 years of adventurous programming by Timothy Near, the company is about to begin a new era under recently appointed artistic director Rick Lombardo.
