The mission of The San Francisco Marathon™ is to provide runners from around the globe a unique urban running experience in the city of San Francisco, which includes running on the Golden Gate Bridge. All net proceeds from The San Francisco Marathon events, which include a Full marathon, 2 Half Marathons, Progressive Marathon, 5K, Cause to Run, and Training Program, benefit Committed 2 Community, which is the non-profit organization that produces The San Francisco Marathon.The San Francisco Marathon™ is the "Coolest Summer Marathon!" The race course takes runners on a scenic tour of this California city, including running over the Golden Gate Bridge. Race events include a Full Marathon, two Half Marathons (choose a half), 5K, and Progressive Marathon. The San Francisco Marathon is also a Boston Marathon qualifier.
The start line is located at the Ferry Building. Start the race by running along the Embarcadero and past the renovated Ferry Building and Food Mart. Within the first mile,
