Hazy Loper is gifted with an "'old voice,' pleasingly textured and sounding like it's echoing forth from long ago Eastern Europe," as said by Know Deposit Know Return. Their dark American folk music is a blend of eastern and western sound that has a strong gypsy bite that lands them somewhere between the American South and Eastern Europe. The band is led by Patrick Kadyk on banjo and baritone guitar.Ryder Cooley & Hazel is a hybrid girl-sheep duo that will haunt you with ballads featuring 6-string ukelele, accordion, singing saw, and other instruments. Ryder Cooley herself is an interdisciplinary musician, artist and performer whose main aim is "weaving together chimeric visions with songs and projected imagery."
