Description

The former White Zombie frontman is taking a page from the hip hop stars, releasing a sequel to his first solo album, Hellbilly Deluxe. If it ever comes out, that is—Hellbilly Deluxe 2, subtitled “Noble Jackals, Penny Dreadfuls and the Systematic Dehumanization of Cool,” has supposedly been finished since last year, but was delayed while Zombie finished another sequel, Halloween 2. He really needn’t have bothered with the Michael Myers flick, but fans have higher hopes for the new record. One track, “Werewolf Women of the SS,” references the awesome fake trailer he shot for Tarantino’s Grindhouse. True to form, at least two others pay tribute to other horror films, “Mars Needs Women” and “The Man Who Laughs.” The tour, with openers Nekromantix and Captain Clegg and the Night Creatures (the band from Halloween 2), will be the live debut of the new album, and no doubt feature past electro-metal hits like “Dragula” and “More Human Than Human.”
