River City Extension hails from New Jersey where frontman Joe Michelini first made a reputation for himself as a talented singer/songwriter. their latest "lyrically ambitious, stylistically adventurous" album Don't Let The Sun Go Down On Your Anger will be released June 5th. Fresh off a show at SXSW and the Newport Folk Festival, River City Extension is making a stop at San Jose's The Blank Club on their first ever 2012 tour.Touring with River City Extension is The Drowning Men, a group of grade school friends that blends folk and roots Americana to create foot-stomping, sing-along sea shanty-style tunes. One of San Jose's most famous singer-songwriters Ben Henderson will also perform. Doors open at 8pm.
