Palo Alto, California—The Pacific Art League of Palo Alto (PAL) will host two new exhibitions, November 1st – 28th, 2013, in its transitional location at 227 Forest Avenue in Palo Alto.

Prints Matter!, a regional competition and juried exhibition of thirty-eight prints by twenty-five California artists will be featured in the Main Gallery. Jurors Kathryn Kain and Paula Kirkeby, Master Printer and owner, respectively, of Smith Andersen Editions in Palo Alto, selected the works from 120 entries.

The exhibition features work by many local artists, including “The Drive Home” by Bay Area book artist and printmaker Servane Briand, “Penumbra” and “Swampy II” by Kala Art Institute Resident Artists, respectively, Myles Dunigan and Dara Lorenzo, “Bali Light Control” by professional printmaker Dora Lisa Rosenbaum, and “Stuck” by
Art+ Concept Artist Lubov Ovchinikova.

Pacific Art League instructors and professional printmakers Mario Rosales and Susanne Smith will be exhibiting a few of their works alongside the “Prints Matter!” artists. As a special treat, Mario will be performing an interactive demonstration in the PAL printmaking studio during the reception.

In the Glass Gallery, Flowers & Water, an exhibition of photographs by local artist Joe Meyers will be featured.

In the Craft Gallery, ceramic artist and Dawning Day Ceramics founder Rona Foster will continue to show her work, featuring fanciful fish sculptures, decorative pottery, and nature wall pieces. Her exhibition will run through November 29, 2013.
Pacific Art League’s First Friday, the monthly new exhibition opening reception, will be held on November 1st, 2013, from 5:30 - 8:00 PM at the Pacific Art League. Come and enjoy interesting conversation with creative individuals and, moreover, beautiful art. Refreshments will be served.
Gallery hours are 9 AM to 5 PM. Monday through Friday. Admission is free.
