Description
Prayer Shawl MinistryDo you like to crochet or knit? Sew or do needlework? Everyone welcome! We meet on the first and third Thursdays of each month from 7:00 pm – 9:00 pm. We will make shawls, lap blankets, baby blankets, etc for those in need. Care and the love of knitting (and crochet) have been combined into a prayerful ministry that reaches out to those in need of comfort and solace. Many blessings are knitted into every shawl. The knitter begins each shawl with prayers for the recipient. Intentions are continued throughout the creation of the shawl. When the shawl is completed it is offered a final ritual before being sent along its way.
Those seeking company to do their needlework are invited to join us. We take donations of yarn also. For those who want to learn, Madeline has offered to give beginner crochet lessons.
Our Thursday meetings take place from 7:00 pm – 9:00 pm in the Social Hall of the First Presbyterian Church of San Jose.
