Come and celebrate the rich culture of the Philippines at the 2013 Summer Youth Recital presented by the American Center of Philippine Arts (ACPA) and Rhythmix Cultural Works. ACPA brings both classical and contemporary Filipino traditions to this family-friendly event featuring interactive workshops in music, martial arts, and the Philippine-born toy, yo-yo. The afternoon will also include a book reading by Filipino writer and visual artist Marconi Calindas, performance by Filipino musician Lenny San Jose aka Ukulenny, demonstrations by Eskabo Daan Martial Arts and yo-yo champion Joseph Harris, as well as a student recital from ACPA's Students Enriched in Education and Dance program. Filipino snacks and beverages will also be available.
