Description
In 1972, Bob Fosse directed and choreographed the original production of Pippin, which ran for nearly 2,000 performances. In 2013, the show was brought back to Broadway and went on to win four Tony Awards, including best revival of a musical. Director Diane Paulus re-imagined the troupe of Fosse's dancers as a group of circus performers and acrobats. Gypsy Snider, the new production's resident circus creator, drew upon her connections with Cirque du Soleil and les 7 doigts de la main to serve as a backdrop for Pippin's adventures. This touring production features the actress Adrienne Barbeau as Pippin's grandmother, Berthe. (JE)Get tangled up in the acrobatic, magical, high-flying Broadway hit musical. Music created by the composers of Wicked lifts the audience up and dazzles them with choreography in the style of Bob Fossee and acrobatics by Les 7 Doigts de la Main. Pippin is noted for many Broadway standards including: "Corner of the Sky," "Magic To Do," "Glory," "No Time at All," "Morning Glow," and "Love Song."
