I like to think of Pink as sort of a punk-rock Madonna. She's never strayed from the pop world but has managed to retain her own independent voice, and she reinvents herself like five times in each video. As far as being punk rock, well maybe that's an exaggeration, but she has collaborated with Tim Armstrong from Rancid, as well as Linda Perry from 4 Non Blondes and Beck. Plus, the Hives are opening for her on this tour, and they just opened up for the Refused last year. Pink has a self-awareness and sense of humor most pop stars lack, and it's nice to hear songs on the radio about female empowerment for a change.
