Description
The San Francisco Arts Commission Gallery is pleased to present Drawing from Another Dimension, an installation by Bay Area artist Paul Hayes in our Grove Street window installation site. A raw storefront located in the heart of the Civic Center, the Grove Street window installation site is a project space that since 1995 has provided artists with the opportunity to create experimental and site-specific installations.For Drawing from Another Dimension, Hayes continues to further develop a concept that he has been exploring for the past few years—representing the qualities inherent to drawing in three dimensional space through line, form and mass. The result is reminiscent of a cluster of molecules, a flock of birds or any aggregation that is made up of small seemingly identical parts. The site-specific installation for the Grove Street window installation site will consist of a vast cascade of crumpled and folded pieces of paper suspended on strands of wire.
