What I learned from Pat Green’s tweets: (1) the country crooner lost a thousand dollars when his friend hit a shot of Jägermeister with a pick from across the room; (2) he gives away free tickets to his shows under fake will-call names like Nelson Willie; and (3) he actually thought boxer Ricky Hatton was going to knock out Filipino superstar Manny Pacquiao in the seventh round (Pacquiao KO’d Hatton in the second). But I’ll forgive Green’s sports transgresses since he has a knack for composing foot-tapping, contemporary country music, while side-stepping the generic and pop-like sound of hits country counterparts (ahem, Taylor Swift).
