Description
OverviewRevolutionizing Napa Valley Wines with European Viti and Viniculture Techniques
On October 22 The International Culinary Center welcomes Viader Vineyards and Winery—and special guest founder and proprietor, Delia Viader—for another evening in our Food and Wine Pairing Series, weekly wine tasting seminars and tutored pairing dinners.
Viader is a leading Napa Valley first-growth wine estate established in 1986 and recognized around the world for consistently producing high quality wines. No stranger to accolades, the proprietary blend placed second in Wine Spectator’s Top 100 Wines in the World. Viader’s grapes are grown in the European style on the steep, volcanic soil of Howell Mountain. Using primarily Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc varietals, Viader’s wines are both structured and elegant.
In this session, you'll learn the principles of wine and food pairing in a short lecture led by International Culinary Center Master Sommelier Roland Micu. Then, discover Viader’s wine philosophy as you taste through a few of their acclaimed wines while Delia and Roland explain how these unique wines are created and how they pair with food.
Afterward, proceed to The International Culinary Center's private dining room—the Monte Bello. You'll enjoy a three-course wine pairing dinner, prepared by our students, while Roland and Delia discuss each of their handpicked wine selections.
