When L.A. band Ozomatli started out 18 years ago, they had no idea what was in store for them, among other things, being asked to be official cultural ambassadors to the U.S. State Department to countries in Asia, South America and the Middle East. But why wouldn't they? The band's cultural diversity and genre melting pot are exactly what America strives for-taking little pieces of every culture and making them our own. In Ozomatli's case, they mash together Latin rock, cumbia, funk, hip-hop, salsa and R&B. It's fusion in the truest sense.
