For the past couple years, the Oversocial Mofo Revue has taken a rather unusual approach to what a poetry slam can be by making it an all-out variety show that includes featured performers from all artistic styles, free snacks and an audience-participation game. Hosts Mike McGee and David Perez always orchestrate a wildly entertaining evening of eclectic performance art. This Friday marks the last of the popular monthly series. For this final show, they've gathered some amazing talent: Kim Johnson, an intense, passionate poet; Ben Henderson, San Jose's brilliant singer/songwriter; Joshua Walters, who does beatbox performance art; and returning favorite, the incredible aerialist Bunny Zlotnik of the Vespertine Circus. True to their style, even the price of admission varies randomly by the throw of a die.
