Description
Orquesta Pacheco, the only professional and diverse salsa band based in Redwood City features Jaime Monteverde with Yolanda Alvarez and introduces Vida Libre on October 11. Alvarez and Libre are Redwood City residents, along with Pacheco first-cousins, Javier (keyboards), and Raul (bass). Another lifetime resident of R.C. is Cubano Pedro Fernandez, one of the Bay Area’s top conga players. Jose Leyva is featured on timbales. The mambo section (horns) is a powerhouse that consists of such top-notch musicians as Brad Catania on trumpet, Michael Morris on flute and sax, and Abel Figueroa on trombone. Directed by veteran musician/arranger Javier Pacheco, Orquesta Pacheco plays a diversity of salsa styles and international genres, including original music. For over ten years the group has performed around the San Francisco Bay Area, consistently delivering such rousing performances as they did at Courthouse Square, closing the First Annual Salsa Festival in Redwood City last Sept 20. Orquesta Pacheco is pleased to be returning to the Little Fox, from where the group started drawing salsa dancers in 2004. Orquesta Pacheco has something for everybody!-foxdream.com
