Ohlone College NASA NightASTROBIOLOGY: LOOKING FOR LIFE ELSEWHERE IN THE UNIVERSE Dr. Colin Goldblatt, NASA
The smallest planet detected so far is about twice the size of earth, but the new Kepler space telescope, run by NASA Ames Research Center, should be able to detect Earth-like planets. Dr. Goldblatt, NASA researcher of geochemistry and co-evolution of life and Earth's climate, will discuss the following questions: Is there life on these planets? What would it be like and how would we go about finding it? How does studying the Earth help us answer these questions?
Tickets available at no charge on a first come, first served basis at the Smith Center Box Office starting at 6pm the evening of the lecture. Doors open at 6:30pm(400 seat capacity)
